I was born in 1990 in Atlanta, GA, the youngest of five children to Syrian immigrants who sought a better future for their family. Raised in Panama City, FL, I developed an early love for the outdoors, spending my free time swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving along the Gulf Coast. My parents instilled in me a strong work ethic, a commitment to family, and the importance of faith—values that continue to shape my personal and professional life.
From an early age, I was drawn to service and leadership. In high school, I took on leadership roles in student government, launching initiatives like Adopt-a-Highway and Habitat for Humanity projects. My passion for community service carried into my undergraduate years at the University of Florida, where I studied Food Science and Human Nutrition while leading efforts to support the homeless through Project Downtown.
My journey in medicine began in West Virginia, where I attended medical school and had my first experience with humanitarian medical work. In 2014, I traveled to Syria to assist in a war-torn hospital, an experience that solidified my desire to pursue anesthesiology. Witnessing the critical role of pain management and emergency care in high-stakes situations, I realized that my calling extended beyond just treating patients—I wanted to make a lasting impact on how care was delivered.
Returning to the University of Florida for residency in anesthesiology was a full-circle moment for me. However, during my training, a personal health scare—herniated cervical discs that required surgery—offered me a new perspective on pain, resilience, and the human body’s ability to heal. This experience fueled my decision to specialize further in pain management, a field that allows me to help patients regain control of their lives.
Today, I practice in Miami, where I serve as a clinical attending for a pain management fellowship program. I remain dedicated to education, mentorship, and advancing the field of interventional pain medicine. Beyond medicine, I am a husband, a father to two (soon to be three!) boys, and an advocate for maintaining a work-life balance that prioritizes family, faith, and personal well-being.
Through this blog, I hope to share insights from my career, reflect on lessons learned, and contribute to a broader conversation about patient care, leadership, and the evolving landscape of medicine.
